Garden Hill Acres is nestled in the
rolling hills of the Ganaraska National
Forest near the tiny village of Garden Hill, a beautiful little country place, about 100km (60 miles)
east of Toronto. We are Marguerite and Dave. Hi!
We Live to Garden! We Garden to Live!
We practice our obsession on 25 acres and our gardens merge
together with our neighbour's (June) so nobody is really sure where one starts and the other ends.
We've had weddings and parties and birthdays and
church services and
a Big Sister's Garden Tour here, not
to mention the 2007 Dry Stone Wall Festival
extravaganza. It's as close to heaven on Earth as we ever hope to get.
Maybe you would like to visit our garden. Maybe have your
wedding photos done here. There is no charge. We are not in
business. We have nothing to sell. We just love to show off
our handiwork to other garden lovers. Email Marguerite
for more information. |

This is a friendly community with three Churches, a General Store, an Old
Swimmin'
Hole, a Landing Strip and no stoplights. Gary serves coffee at 7:00am around the
pot-bellied stove in the old General Store.
Time moves a bit slower here than in the Big
City.
Yes, we even have a "Corner Gas" station. But we
don't much need gasoline to get around here, what with
them horses and all...
Even though we are far from the city and still use crank phones with
seven people on one party line and battery packs on the outside wall, we have high-speed
internet service, thanks to a wonderful little local company Airnet
who provides wireless coverage to our area at speeds that make satellite and
cable subscribers green with envy.. |
| Here are some pictures of our gardens.
We'll keep adding more, and giving you gardening tips.
Marguerite's husband says she could plant a 2x4 and make it grow, so
maybe, just maybe, we just might pass on a few of our secrets, if you
turn out to be one of our kindred spirits... |
