Preparations

The Northumberland Dry Stone Wall Festival
October 6 - 8, 2007

Extensive "behind the scenes" preparations were required for the DSWAC Festival.  Foundations were dug (approximately 6 to 8 inches deep) and filled with coarse gravel for stability, drainage and ease of leveling the first course.

Over 50 tons of stone were delivered to three different areas -- for the SheepShear, for the Helix and for the Student Wall.
